Alongside the wedding preparations it is also important to spend time as a couple talking through your expectations of marriage. However much you think you have in common, you are still two separate individuals with different backgrounds, personalities, experiences, hopes and fears.
Glenabbey hosts a 5 week Marriage Preparation course for engaged couples annually in February and October. While based on Christian principles, the course is relevant and helpful for any couple with or without a Christian faith.
The course is run in homes of mature Christian couples who will act as hosts and facilitators. There is no group work within the course with each couple having privacy to discuss the topics addressed on the course.
Next course begins Tuesday 21st February 2012 at 7.30pm - runs through to 20th March.

Griefshare
If you have lost your spouse, parent, child, relative or close friend you may find it hard to find someone who truly can understand the deep pain, emptiness and hurt you feel. Grief Share is a specially designed programme and support group for people who are grieving the loss of someone very dear to them. Grief Share runs for eleven weeks on Thursday evenings and each evening includes a DVD presentation, a discussion session, and an opportunity to meet others over a cup of tea/coffee.
Each evening is “self-contained” so you do not have to attend in sequence the programme designed by Grief Share. This programme will be repeated in two other churches in the Glengormley area at other times of the year. The Course restarts in Glenabbey on Thursday 20th September 2012 at 7.45pm (for 11 weeks)
Grief Share "Surviving the Holidays" will be held on Thursday 6th December 2012 at 7.45pm in the Warehouse. Causeway
Causeway
On the last Thursday of each month from 7.00pm to 8.30pm you are invited to come along to Glenabbey to meet new friends and learn about Jesus. The Causeway @ Glenabbey group is organised in partnership with Prospects, and is open to anyone in the approximate age range of 18 - 50 years who would benefit from a programme specifically designed for those with any form of learning difficulty.
People with learning disabilities have difficulty with language, few will be able to read, concentration is short and abstract thoughts and conceptual thinking are major barriers to understanding, so we’d like to try to:
Present Biblical truth simply and effectively
Enable discipleship and training
Give opportunities for inclusive worship
